We have been busy with referee classes for the past two weeks.
Last weekend, we held an entry level class and graudated 11 new referees in the Ocala area. The class was about 50/50 adults and kids, all having a strong background in soccer, they are a great addition to the referee group.
This past weekend, 16 of our
Grade 9 (recreational level) referees, made the upgrade to grade 8. You will likely see these faces at some of the competitive games soon.
Congrats to all of the new and upgraded referees!!

Big Sun Referee Meeting

Mark your Calendars for AUGUST 4th 6:30pm - 8:30pm. This will be held at the Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church. 674 Silver Rd.
We are having a MANDATORY meeting for all of those who plan on working games at Big Sun in the Fall.
For those of you who have registered online for the Grade 8 Re-Cert Class on Aug 24th, I will be able to give you the 2009 FIFA Laws of the game for you to review before recert class.
We will be doing a review on the Laws of the Game, Rules of Competiton for the Recreational Program, Proceedure changes for Travel Team Games, and Going over Referee-Assignor communication guidelines.
I have a couple of new referee training DVDs we may look at. Although we have business to conduct, this will be a lot of fun.
I look forward to seeing ALL of you there.

FSR Announces Fees for Registration for 2009

The current registration Fees for the 2009 Patch is as follows.
Grade 8 Entry level Class $100
Grade 9 to 8 upgrade Class $65
Grade 9 / 8 Recertification $60
For those taking the Grade 8 class, Big Sun will be offering some financial assistance.
Referee Students will pay $50 to Big Sun
Big Sun will pay the other $50
New referees will work the first 5 matches for free (or whatever is equal to $50)

How to Register online for a Referee Class

For those who are interested in registering online for the ENTRY LEVEL REFEREE CLASS, here are some simplified instructions:
Go to www.fsr-inc.com
click on COURSES
then hit ENTRY LEVEL
Click on "I Agree for COPPA and Privacy Act
Dropdown Menu will Offer Grade 8 (thats the one you want)
From there it will list all of the classes offered.
Select the Ocala Class and register from there.
For those of you who want to register for the GRADE 8 and 9 RECERTIFICATION Class:
Go to www.fsr-inc.com
click on COURSES
then hit RECERTIFICATION
Click on "I Agree for COPPA and Privacy Act
Dropdown Menu will Offer Grade 8/9( thats the one you want

We now have 2 referee classes offered before the fall season begins.
USSF Grade 8 Entry Level Class
Schedule : Friday Aug 8th 6 - 10pm
Saturday Aug 9th 9am - 4pm
Sunday Aug 10th 1 - 6pm
Tuesday Aug 12th 6 - 9pm
USSF Grade 9 to 8 Upgrade Class
For Grade 9 recreational referees to move up to Grade 8.
Schedule: Friday Aug 15th 6 - 9pm
Sunday Aug 16th 1 - 6pm
USSF Grade 9 and 8 Re-Certification (2009 Patch)
For those already registered as USSF referees
Schedule: Sunday Aug 24th 1 - 6pm
To register for any of these classes, you must go to www.fsr-inc.com and look under courses, then register online.
